Stanton Charlotte Cuts the Purple Ribbon

On October 29, Stanton Healthcare of Charlotte in North Carolina marked the grand opening of the new life-affirming pregnancy center on Latrobe Drive by welcoming friends and supporters to a ribbon cutting ceremony.  Located just down the street from a large abortion facility, Stanton Charlotte is poised to offer help and hope to many women and their families.  As the fourth Stanton Healthcare affiliate worldwide, the Charlotte organization is in the vanguard of the life-affirming women’s healthcare movement.

Months earlier, Stanton Charlotte had already made an impact upon more than one local family. In the middle of unpacking boxes and hanging pictures, center volunteers were called upon to counsel two young women facing unexpected pregnancies. One of the mothers, Neka, was being pressured to abort her second child. Thank to the efforts of Stanton staff, Neka was empowered to choose life for her child and eventually married her then-boyfriend.   On the evening of the ribbon-cutting, Neka and her husband arrived with ultrasound photo in hand to share in the joy of Stanton Charlotte’s official opening.

Also present at the ceremony were local representatives of the Knights of Columbus.  Stanton Charlotte is currently in the midst of a campaign to secure an ultrasound machine through the Knights of Columbus Ultrasound Initiative, a national program which has resulted in over 600 ultrasound machines placed in pregnancy help centers.  Adding ultrasound to the center’s existing services will greatly expand the impact of Stanton Charlotte.

Among the advisory team assembled by Charlotte’s Executive Director Brice Griffin, a notable name appears.  Dr. Matt Harrison, a local physician, has gained recognition for his development of the Abortion Pill Reversal Kit which is being used nationally to reverse the effects of chemical abortions.  He is also the medical director on staff for Stanton Charlotte, representing the commitment of the life-affirming medical community to the vision of Stanton Healthcare.

The Stanton Charlotte center is currently staffed by trained volunteers, several with past abortion experience. Young mothers and empty nesters alike are now on staff, undergoing extensive training in order to provide compassionate support to clients in crisis.

“I count it an honor to celebrate the opening of Stanton Charlotte, one of the first life-affirming Stanton Healthcare affiliates worldwide,” said Danielle Versluys, Director of Stanton Healthcare’s Affiliate Program.  “The incredible efforts of Brice Griffin and her team in Charlotte is representative of the larger Stanton Healthcare family – working together to fulfill our vision for the empowerment of women and betterment of families.”
